Google Snake unblocked: play Google Snake online free right here in your browser — no download, no sign-up, works on a school Chromebook.

Google Snake is the classic snake game in the style of the one that appears in Google search: a small snake glides around a grid, you steer it toward apples, and every apple makes it a little longer. The goal is simple and never changes, which is exactly why a round is so easy to start and so hard to stop.

A session is quick and quiet. Nothing chases you and there are no engines to upgrade, so it is a different pace from the vehicle games on Earn to Die. If you like the "just one more try" pull of a run that ends on a single mistake, this scratches the same itch in a calmer way, and it fits the gap between longer drives.

It runs in the browser with nothing to install, on a laptop, a Chromebook or a phone.

How to play

Steer with the arrow keys or WASD. The snake keeps moving by itself, so you only decide when to turn. On a phone, swipe in the direction you want to go. A key press or tap starts a new round after a crash.

Each apple you reach adds to your length and your score. The round ends when the head hits a wall or runs into the snake's own body. Early on there is plenty of room; the real challenge arrives once the tail takes up a large part of the board and you have to plan your path ahead of the head.

Tips

  • Stay off the edges when you can. A snake hugging a wall has only two ways to turn, which leaves little room to correct a mistake.
  • Think about where your tail will be, not where it is now. The tail end moves out of the way as you advance, so tight turns next to it are often safer than they look.
  • Make wide, sweeping loops rather than zigzags. A tidy pattern leaves open space instead of sealing yourself into a pocket.
  • Turn one square earlier than feels necessary when you are long; late turns cause most crashes.

Google Snake suits short breaks, keyboard or touch, and anyone who enjoys beating a personal best one apple at a time.
